Florence Marketplace

Overview

Florence connects nurses and care staff directly with care homes and hospitals, cutting the traditional agency out of the middle. I was the first engineer, and built the marketplace that the business ran on as it grew to Series B.

What I built

• The core booking loop: care homes post shifts, staff find and claim them, both sides get paid.
• Compliance and document checks, so only qualified staff can take a given shift.
• Payments, invoicing and payroll flows for both sides of the marketplace.
• The foundations the later products, including Florence Academy, were built on top of.
