Curriculum Tool

Overview

Curriculum Tool is a planning tool built specifically for the Curriculum for Wales. Schools use it to plan and organise their curriculum with clear progression, coverage reports and Estyn-ready documentation. 162 schools use it, and none have churned.

A joint venture with Mike Glavin, a retired educator who knows the curriculum inside out. He shapes the pedagogy, I build the software and keep it running.

What it does

• A drag-and-drop planner that lets a school lay out concepts, vocabulary, experiences and inquiry across every area of learning.
• Lenses that view the same curriculum different ways, including a library of thinking tools teachers can drop into a plan.
• Coverage reporting that shows, live, how much of the curriculum a school has actually accounted for.
• Printable progression reports written in the quantitative language Estyn inspectors expect.

Notes

• Deliberately small: one narrow job, done properly, for one country's curriculum.
• Ships as two products: Rainbow for primary, Prism for secondary.
• Cyber Essentials certified and aligned to Crown Commercial requirements, which matters when selling to schools.
• Runs with very little maintenance, which is rather the point of a micro SaaS.
